The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is one of two main ligaments in the knee
that connect the thigh bone to the shin bone and provide stability. Athletes who
pivot, jump, or change direction quickly are most at risk, and women are three
times more likely than men to experience ACL injuries.
Unfortunately, injuries to the ACL do not heal on their own. They almost always need arthroscopy or surgery to repair. Dr. DeVault uses the most advanced techniques to repair ACLs and get athletes back to the activities they love. For more information about ACL reconstruction, visit the American Academy of Orthopaedics. To make an appointment with Dr. DeVault, please call our office. |
